Each school day shall begin with prayers organized by the principal and staff.
Sweet-grass ceremonies will take place as part of prayer throughout the school year. Parents may exempt students from participation in religious observances.

Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation is a faith-based community. Members actively practice their Traditional and Inherit Beliefs, as well as their adopted and Catholic Beliefs at home and in the community. 

Children and youth are taught by their families and extended relatives to pray every day, to give thanks and to have a relationship with the Creator. 

Community elders involved Alexis School have approved a prayer that allows students to pray in their native language. Every morning before class starts, teachers and students prepare themselves and recite the following prayer:
